BryanLGH Institute for Women's & Children's Health Delivers 218 Babies in First Month
Lincoln, NE – The BryanLGH Institute for Women’s & Children’s Health announced today the birth of 218 infants during September. This represents a 24 percent increase from the same month last year when 167 babies were delivered on the childbirth unit at BryanLGH East.
“We are very pleased with the positive response from our patients, physicians and staff”, says Patrice d’Entremont, director, BryanLGH Institute for Women’s & Children’s Health.
Also during its first month, the BryanLGH Institute for Women’s & Children’s Health became the first Lincoln hospital, and one of only two hospitals in Nebraska, to become certified as a Baby-Friendly Hospital. The Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative is an international program of the World Health Organization (WHO) and United National Children’s Fund (UNICEF). It celebrates birth facilities that have taken special steps to create the best possible environment for successful breastfeeding.
