Diagnostic X-ray and Fluoroscopy

Radiography, or as it is most commonly known, an X-ray, is the oldest and most frequently used form of medical imaging. Discovered more than a century ago, X-rays can produce diagnostic images of the human body on film or digitally on a computer screen. Radiographic imaging includes but is not limited to bones, joints, chest, gastrointestinal tract, spine, kidneys and guidance for biopsies.

Fluoroscopy uses real-time X-rays to get an image and is most commonly used for gastrointestinal tract studies, tube placements, and X-ray-guided biopsies. Portable fluoroscopy also can be done in the operating rooms to guide the surgeon for certain surgeries.
