Hospitalists

Around-the-Clock Physician Care

The BryanLGH Hospitalist Program provides around-the-clock care by licensed, board certified internal medicine physicians who specialize in adult inpatient hospital care. Registered nurses also serve on the team as hospitalist coordinators.

BryanLGH hospitalist care is provided in association with Inpatient Physician Associates. One doctor from the group is in charge of your care. This means you have the benefit of being seen by a board certified internal medicine physician whose practice is entirely focused on the care of hospitalized patients. A hospitalist is always available at the medical center - 24 hours a day, seven days a week - to respond to changes in your condition that may need immediate attention and to answer any questions you or your family may have.

As members of the BryanLGH healthcare team, hospitalists work with your primary care doctor, surgeons, specialists, nurses, radiologists, therapists, pharmacists and others involved in your care.

The hospitalist gives your primary care doctor updates on any changes in your condition during your hospitalization. The hospitalist makes dismissal arrangements for you including prescribing your take-home medications. When you leave the medical center, your hospitalist will call your primary care doctor and send a summary report of your care.
