Stents

BryanLGH was among the first in Nebraska to use the coronary artery stent, which is a coiled wire placed across the blockage and inflated with a balloon. Our highly skilled team performs many types of stent procedures:

  • Coronary Stent Grafting: Coronary stents are used for arteries of the heart.   They come in many sizes and shapes; most often, stents are coated with medication to help keep the artery open.
  • Carotid Artery Stent Grafting: Carotid artery stents open up blockages in the neck. This is a less invasive procedure with shorter hospital stays and recovery times.
  • Aortic Stent Grafting: Through small incisions, a stent is placed above and below the aneurysm (a bulging arterial wall). Recovery time is often one to two days. Physicians and staff at BryanLGH performed the state’s first aortic stent graft in 1999.
  • Renal Artery Stent: These stents are used to open the artery that supplies blood to your kidneys.
