Kim Leighton, PhD, RN, CNE, Dean of Instructional Technology, presented “Meeting Student Learning Needs in the Simulated Clinical Environment” and June Smith, PhD, RN, Director of the Research and Professional Practice Center, presented "Supporting Faculty Scholarship in Non-University-Based Programs of Nursing Education” at the second International Nurse Education Conference in Dublin, Ireland, June 9-11.
Karla Scholl, MSN, RN, Assistant Professor, presented “A Dress Rehearsal: Using Simulation to Enhance Resuscitation Skills in Baccalaureate Students” at the International Nursing Learning Resource Centers Conference, June 12-14 in San Jose.
Lina Bostwick, MSN, RN, Assistant Professor, presented “Teaching Evidence-Based Principles Through Senior Nursing Student Projects” at the 2008 Summer Institute on Evidence-Based Practice, June 26-28, in San Antonio.
Patty Bollinger, RN C, MSN, APRN, CNS, Assistant Professor, and Debra Border, MS, MSN, RN C, Dean of Students presented “Recipe for Success” at the annual Nurse Educators Conference in the Rockies, July 17-19, in Breckenridge.
Kim Leighton also will provide two pre-conference workshops: “Integration of Simulation into Undergraduate Nursing Curriculum” and “Facilitating Learning with Simulation in Nursing Education” and a key note speech about learning in the simulated clinical environment at the annual Simulation Industry of Australia Healthcare Conference, September 8-11, in Brisbane, Australia.
Sue Gabriel, EdD, RN, SANE, Assistant Professor, will present "Human Trafficking: New Age Child Abuse” at the International Association of Forensic Nursing Conference, September 17-20, in Dallas.
Karla Scholl also will present “A Dress Rehearsal: Using Simulation to Enhance Resuscitation Skills in Baccalaureate Students” and Kim Leighton, will present “Improve Learning Opportunities in your Simulation Lab!” at the annual Professional Nurse Educators Group Conference, October 17-19, in Kansas City.
