BryanLGH Nursing Student Chosen as State Student Nurse of the Year

LINCOLN, Neb. — BryanLGH Nursing Student, Lesa Tegtmeier, a 2002 graduate of Fairbury High School, was chosen as State Student Nurse of the Year at the Nebraska State Student Nurse Association’s state convention on February 4.

Lesa was one of eight nominees from other schools across the state. Nominees are selected on the basis of leadership, scholarship and civic involvement. “Lesa is very deserving of this award,” states Julie Skrabal, MSN, RN and BryanLGH College of Health Sciences assistant professor. “She is an extremely good student and very involved in community and school activities.” Lesa received a $500 scholarship for her honor.

The BryanLGH College of Health Sciences provides the community, state and region with healthcare professional education that emphasizes clinical competence and academic excellence through affiliation with BryanLGH Medical Center. The College provides educational programs leading to undergraduate academic degrees, certificates and continuing professional development for careers in nursing and allied health.
