LINCOLN, Neb. — BryanLGH Medical Center East will officially open a remodeled main entrance on Monday, February 21. Increased privacy and convenience are two benefits that the opening will bring to patients, family members and guests when arriving and leaving the medical center.
For example, a new underground tunnel connects the 48th Street Parking Garage and the medical center. This provides an indoor walkway that protects against the sometimes unpleasant Nebraska elements. Three lanes of vehicle traffic for front door drop off and pickup mean easier access to the building. Two separate exits, one for arrivals and one for patient dismissals, will ensure a smooth flow of people coming and going without congestion and provide a comfortable, private exit for departing patients.
Of course, the new, improved main entrance will continue to provide friendly, personal attention from greeters who offer a warm welcome and assistance, a BryanLGH service that patients and visitors have grown accustomed to over the years.
In addition to the new entrance and tunnel walkway, the current BryanLGH East lobby will undergo a transformation and expansion of space. This spring the Volunteer Resources gift shop will move to a more spacious area, and visitors may enjoy a café latte or a simple cup of coffee at a new coffee bar expected to open late this summer.
The East site of the medical center is located at 1600 So. 48th Street. The new entrance is part of a multi-million-dollar construction project underway at both BryanLGH East and BryanLGH West. The project is scheduled for completion in 2007. For more information about the entrance changes or to receive a map of BryanLGH East, call 402-481-8674 or 402-481-5115.
